I have mostly finished ploughing through my pile of Fairey boxes. There is little of value or interest with one exception. One very odd looking valve has been suggested as being a Klystron tube, and part of an early radar. I hope that I have managed to add some pictures. There is little in the way of marks. On the side is a C and the residuum of something else unidentifiable.
So- can anyone pin it down, and if so is it of any use for a project? As the top connector isn’t fixed any more I doubt that it is viable, but it could be used in a static display.

Another trick with faded valve markings is to breathe on it, the condensation helps make the writing show up.

Thanks for that. I have had another look at what markings there were, and it sort of fitted, and then I rubbed it with a cotton wool bud and more appeared. CV 67 it is. The paper label at the top is blank.

Yes, definitely a Klyston, type CV67 or similar – see http://www.tubecollector.org/cv67.htm. There were a variety of similar devices covering different frequencies as can be found via that link.
