Part I.d needed – possibly B-17

Around eleven inches long and six inches wide, I’m guessing it’s from a B-17 simply because of the area where found. And although I initially thought this to be some sort of intake cover / gauze, I can’t place it.

Any ideas please?

Looks like you were onto something TA, as this looks like the same grill / filter as fitted to a Stromberg PD-12H2 Carburettor.

Looks more like an oil strainer to me? The hole would be where the pickup pipe goes.

I think that is a gauze from a Stromberg carburetor
