Thought I had seen everything….

Hopefully the RAFM will not be inspired.

Whitley_Project – I agree. I think it is quite a neat thing to have done, and at least the airframes will be part of a display that may get some attention over the years. It’s a bit of a shame that no-one is sufficiently interested in Ansons to do more in terms of restoring them – can you conceive of 12 spitfire wrecks being used to create an artwork!

In fairness the artwork isn’t any worse than the storage conditions those Ansons were in already, and it gives a good sense of how much of each aircraft remains.

I’m more surprised that there is a field full of rotting Ansons out there!

I went and saw this a few months ago. What you have to remember is that many museums in Canada have Anson wrecks coming out of their ears. It’s a better alternative to scrapping them.

Hi All,
I saw this a week or so a go thought what a waste then and still do! I mean you can only really appreciate the piece of art from above, otherwise it looks
like a pile of aircraft parts with vegetation growing everywhere IMPO. Still I suppose people could hire aircraft to fly over it and appreciate the art…:p

…….too late…..seems the head of the RAFM doesn’t understand why her museum has to be full of smelly old aeroplanes
