hi, morning,

Just a nudge for anyone who has forgotten and would like to have been reminded,

74yrs and 4hours ago the young men of the fledgling mighty eighth, seating in their briefing rooms were saying the 3 words they had hoped never to have to say “not Schweinfurt again”…
Fog delayed them, and cancelled escorts, and the Luftwaffe were up for it. So a very expensive do- 26% loss of aircraft, and a 22% loss in men… This was on top of the 90 aircraft lost in the three previous missions, thankfully, in the coming months with the help of the little friends the P.51’s, they stuck to the task…
