Spitfire With 'Teardrop' Canopy

I cannot recall where, when or why…but didn’t this Spitfire feature in a recent discussion?

Mark 12?

Until the scan was enlarged it looked very much like a blister. But much clearer on the scanned version.

The question now is: which aeroplane?

Yeah, Canopy is gone on that, but the distorted fuselage to the rear of the cockpit is causing an illusion

Actually, interesting although that image is, I’m none too convinced it IS a blister.

Optical illusion, and thing we are seeing inside of the fuselage which give appearance of blister?

Thoughts??

Thanks, Spiteful!

I knew I hadn’t imagined it.

So, another 19 Squadron (QV) Spitfire in 1941 with a blister canopy, apparently.
