I’m doing a bit of research into a bombing raid on Penzance on night of 8 June 1941. (Our house was one of those affected, hence interest). One of the things I’d like to find out is which Luftwaffe units/aircraft types might have been involved. I’ve not researched WW2-era before, so am unsure what references there are out there. Does it seem likely that the information I’m after will exist ? If so, any pointers on where to start looking ?
Thanks in advance.

Try posting the question on a dedicated Luftwaffe site: such as www.luftwaffe-research-group.org I’m sure it will be possible to determine the units and hence types.

Thanks. I’ve seen the excerpts on the BBC web site. Getting hold of a copy is more difficult – not available via the usual second-hand book sources. Might try the library in Penzance. Not even sure that it would contain the info I’m after though – I guess I was hoping there would be some sort of Luftwaffe war diary that would list targets attacked by date and unit.

Have you seen, WHEN BOMBS FELL, ISBN 0 9500 235 5 8 about air raids on Cornwall?
