An update on display flying by TVAL.
They did no public displays in the 2017/18 season, but held non-public days to maintain currency. They have just announced that they will be a major part of the Saturday’s flying for the February 2019 Wings Over Wairarapa (held at Masterton, were their aircraft are mainly based).

We intend to make a major contribution to the Wings Over Wairarapa airshow next year. It will be on from 22-24 February at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton. This may be our only public flying display next season so we hope to see you there.

For more information regarding tickets and other show participants have a look here:
www.wings.org.nz/

At the present time our display hangar at Hood Aerodrome is so filled with aircraft we can’t safely offer public tours. There just isn’t room to move around and the situation will only be eased with increased hangar space (some way off in the future unfortunately).

Good to hear, Delticman.
They just used their twitter account to auto-post links to their Facebook updates (useful for me as I am on Twitter but not FB). I can understand why they drop it while they don’t want to deal with random questions from the public. Also, it was called @TVAL_Airshows, and they might want to re-brand to @TVA_Museum or something.

No need to panic chaps. Everyone still has a job, the museum will be open in the summer and hopefully the flying days will see be happening.

Just every now and again, it’s time for a breather, or in the case of these modern people, a coffee out on the pavement somewhere.

As for this modern social media, put any announcements on Facebook. Some one will read it. As for twitter, it’s only fake news.

I see a similar forum to this has its members making wild statements. None have any ring of truth in them.

The notice mentioned is also on their Facebook page as their cover photo. Another news story here: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11898105

Oddly, the TVAL Twitter account has completely vanished.

Why Tax related?

Internal investigation, could just be procedural

Looks like something has been discovered or is missing from an audit and an attempt is being made to fill in the gaps of a missing paper trail or missing money. Hope its all resolved soon!

normal to hold fire if an investigation is underway tax related anyway

Sorry it read wrong ‘IF’ an investigation, I was not saying it is but I had this happen many years back and we were not able to sell assets, it all got sorted out and a nice rebate 🙂

sorry for any confusion Bunsen
