Dear all
could we have some info about the RAF Catalina FP285 that crashed in Croatia ?
The reason why is that some portion of it was recently discovered (picture)
Thnaks in advance

Difficult to see which is ‘inside’ and which is ‘outside’ on that panel: it may be that the ‘blister’ flange is the wrong side to be a PBY?

David, I forgot to thank you for your answer.
It would seem that P285 is rather a P/N.
Therefore, the identification of the aircraft remains a question mark.
Cheers

Hi Guys
here is some news of the “Catalina” part found in Croatia.
– First, is it actually a Catalina ? the blister shape does look like it, but not 100% Sure. I have added new pictures with details.
– “P285” marking appears clearly, see picture: does this help ?
– then, location place is in Croatia Kornati national park, in front of Garmenjak Island.
Thanks for your support to identify this beautiful piece of scrap..

GC – can you confirm that RAF serial. I have FP285 as SOC in the Middle East in 1946.
