3 part Kermit cam on his P51D

I see Kermit Weeks has bought out a 3 part Kermit cam on his P51D and very interesting it is to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzKFkYLHq3Q

Has Kermit bought any of his aircraft over to the UK to display ? or himself displayed at a UK display.

No Mustangs flying in RNZAF colours? Admittedly this is from March last year but I’m fairly sure ZK-TAF is airworthy:

I’d love it if he painted his aircraft back in their original paint schemes. The P-51D back in it’s RNZAF scheme (none anywhere flying in those colours, but three ex-RNZAF Mustangs out there) and the Sunderland back in the RNZAF scheme too!

🙂 Thanks for the replies ,it would be lovely to see some of his stuff over here. 🙂
I like and appreciate the way he has been able and is willing to give an insight into the workings and flying of these aircraft.

The “venturi” that Kermit Weeks points out in the first of the P-51D videos, but cannot recall specifically what it is for, is the vent for the fuselage fuel tank, and thus doesn’t serve any purpose on this or the vast majority of the D’s that fly today – some D’s which have been vastly rebuilt, or converted to TF’s, simply don’t even have this vent installed. Note too that the external power cart plug-in/socket is in a different position on Kermit’s plane than most D’s, since NAA moved the location of this plug-in/socket on the Dallas-built D-25-NT’s and D-30-NT’s, as Kermit’s plane is (the very last variants produced by NAA). The “cuffless” Hamilton Standard blades on Kermit’s Mustang are also correct to what it would have had when new/when it rolled out of the factory in 1945 (NAA started adding those into production Mustangs with the D-30-NA’s, D-25-NT’s, and D-30-NT’s), but of course the early N-9 reflector gun sight, throttle and white outline of the flying instruments is a nod to the George Preddy paint scheme (the original “Cripes A’ Mighty 3rd” being the early/first production variant P-51D-5-NA, with those early types details).

I binged on Kermie Cams yesterday – work had to close due to a power cut – and I agree on the TP-40N, very keen for that one!

I’ve seen parts 1 & 2, just waiting for part 3!

As always, great to watch.

I’m looking forward to when he does the TP-40N and Spitfire Kermie Cams.

Cheers

Paul

I don’t think any Weeks owned aircraft have ever come over for shows, but he did came over to display the RAFM Albatros D.Va at Old Warden a few years ago:
