Seat indentification

Can anyone identify this?

I’m skilled enough to identify it as a seat, made of metal, probably from an aeroplane:

Neither the P-40 nor the P-47 seem to have those large cut outs in the bottom corners

The B-17 doesn’t seem to have that riveted in plate

Stearman looks promising!:

My first thought was P-47 Thunderbolt but looks more like Stearman – would love to give it a good home if it is P-47 as we had them at Bottisham and plan to build a cockpit section soon.

The owner was given to understand it is from a B-17

Is that 450050003 number significant?

Very nice. Agree American. Seen fitted to a Canadian Hurri, P40, happy to give a loving home!

Pretty sure its American – has hooks for inertia reel belts. My first though was P-40 or similar.
