A friend of mine has asked me a question and I’d be grateful if any experten out there could help him…
“I have been doing some research for my next 1:24th scale aircraft project, which is a Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, and I was wondering if you could help? I have bought a Montex mask kit from Hannants and plan to paint my aircraft as ‘White 12’ of 1/JG52, as flown by Feldwebel Heinz Uerlings. This aircraft was shot down during the Battle of Britain on 2nd Sept 1940, and crash landed near Canterbury. I have the Werk # which is 1261 but not the engine block number. I believe the engine was an early DB601A but I have no idea where to look for the block number. Do you have access to this kind of information?”
I don’t have the relevant expertise, but maybe someone else does?

I’m afraid the RAF Air Intelligence (A.I.1g) reports record no engine number in their brief technical report.
