I know this may not be the place to ask this question, but it is the forum I generally use, and very often I would like to add one of my photos to my threads or replies.
I wonder if out there others have the same problem and just give up.
How do I attach a photo. I’ve spent many an hour in failed frustration trying.
Could somebody please explain in easy to understand steps to this computer illiterate sole. Or perhaps its difficult to put into words to somebody like me.
I’ve been told I need to create an account like Flickr, done that.
I need to upload my photo to that site, done that.
Then problems, how to download photo to thread.
Any help much appreciated.

Another problem I wish could be sorted out is the editing. I have learnt where to halt my replies but would still like to edit simply in the case of spelling
mistakes that I have made
Geoff.
Have you not spotted the little picture of a pencil and the words “Edit Post” at the bottom right of each post?

So the hard part is done, all you need to do is get it hot linked (not downloaded) to this forum. Easy.
When you’re viewing your image on Flickr, towards to bottom right corner of the black section containing your photo are a number of icons – a picture, a pencil, and three arrows.
Click on the first of those arrows (right-pointing arrow). This will bring up a white box with numerous tabs along the top for different sharing options. You need the tab on the far right, which is called BBCode.
The BBCode box has two text-boxes in it. The first is the code. The second is a sizing option. Use the second box to pick the size you wish to link to first (1024px probably), and once you’ve done that, copy the code from the box above. Then all you have to do is paste the code directly into your post on this forum and submit your post – the BBcode button on Flickr already takes care of the image tags etc for you.

I recommend ‘Photobucket’.
I have been using it for 10 or more years.
Sign up, and I presume it is still free for low time users, and it takes care of all the sizing issues.
Just copy and paste from the IMG icon.

For sure you image size is probably too large to submit

Use an online photo resizer to get the photo reduced to about half screen size and try uploading that

Right chaps, thanks for all your comments, but I’m still having problems.
OK gone to the tree symbol, which gives insert image, either from computer or URL, so from computer.
Says browse, which I do and open required photo. Photo code appears in window, but browse word stays in place.
I hit upload files. Nothing happens.
Photo is about 2.1 mb.
Any further thoughts.
Perhaps its all beyond me and its best I just stick to the written word.
Thanks for all your help so far though.

Correct, pic will go from your computer to the post
By: AlanR - 28th May 2017 at 17:13
This is assuming you don’t use a photo hosting website such as Flickr or Photobucket ?

To post a picture hit “Reply to Thread”
Then add your text
Then “Go Advanced”
Then “Manage Attachments”
On the smaller menu which comes up “Choose File” and browse your computer to nominate which pic you want to upload
Then “Upload” it.
Note that you may have to resize large pics for the system to take them.
[Windows Picture Manager (an old programme) or Photo Filtre ( a free one) work for me]
Then back to the bigger menu and “Submit Reply”
Simples.
…………………..or as the man above said, if your computer gives you this menu when you go advanced, hit the “tree” icon as per here :

Easiest way…start new thread…click ikon as ringed here….add image direct from your computer…add text[ATTACH=CONFIG]253719[/ATTACH]
