Request for help with a pilot's identification

Hello!
I’ve regularly visited the forum in the past, but this is the first time I’ve posted. My reason for doing so is that I am trying to find out the name of a pilot my father briefly helped in the summer of 1940 or 41. My dad is 94 years old now and his memory is not quite what it was. I took him to the field where the pilot came down at Easter; the site of the pilot’s landing is north-west of Martin, Kent (approximate NGR: TR 334470). We do not know where the aircraft the pilot was flying came down although my father believes it to have been a Hurricane.
My father was a farm labourer at the time and his account of the event is that having seen the pilot bale out he followed the flight of the parachute until the pilot landed. My father was first on the scene (although others soon arrived). He tried to shelter the pilot from the wind and support the pilot as best he could until the ambulance services arrived which, my father recalls, was surprisingly quick. The pilot was then taken to hospital. My father never knew the pilot’s name or fate although he thought it unlikely that he could have survived his injuries. He spoke briefly to the pilot who may have been drifting in and out of consciousness. The pilot was (not surprisingly) asking to be taken to hospital. My father believes the pilot to have been English.
It’s little to go on, but with the knowledge on this forum, even advice as to where I could possibly access records to research the matter would be a great help. My only motivation in trying to find out the pilot’s name is to pay my respects to him and to be able to put a name to the pilot my dad helped all those years ago. Considering my dad’s age now, this is something I wish I’d done years ago. I recall him telling me the story when I was a boy but it never occurred to me until recently to try and establish the pilot’s identity.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
