Magister L8355 crashed in lake

Hello Everyone * Please note this is from the 40’s that this plane had the accident nobody was killed*
iam researching pilot John Raymond Senior who crashed his MAGISTAR L8355 into a lake in the U.K
has anyone got any pictures of this plane especially the 1974 recovery from the lake of parts of the plane
John Raymond Senior went onto joining the RAF 207 sqadron
Any help would be great

hi Andy there are not many of these training planes still flying most are i think in museums if any body know any still flying please let me know and i have put in the 40’s

Hello Christopher, there are a couple of photos of the recovery in 1974 from Ullswater in ‘ Air Crashes in the Lake District ‘ M.J.Hurst, Airlife, 1997. One is of one of the instrument panels, the other is of all the wreckage recovered and assembled together, pages 11 and 12. Regards, James.

There wasn’t much left of the plane when it came out. Due to its wood and fabric construction it had largely rotted away. I think the instrument panel and other bits are still on display somewhere. I saw them a few years ago but can’t recall now where that was.
