OK, It’s a long shot. Obviously being here I am an aviation enthusiast with a lifelong interest in historic aviation. Not unusually there is an overlap into other aspects of military history (I grew up in one of the major overlord embarkation ports) and a keen interest in history in general. Coupled to that I have a genuine respect and affection for the United States, it’s people and constitution. I also have a considerable skill in preparing and delivering presentations.
Putting these together I could see me being very happy doing a good job in guiding and entertaining transatlantic visitors, especially and particularly veterans and their families. Does anyone have any suggestions who to contact to investigate the possibilities further?

You could try contacting Mike Peters via http://tgt-v.com/
He used to be the editor of the Glider Pilot Regiment Association magazine and now works as a battlefield guide tour. I believe they do training/certification as well.

I would have thought the best approach is to become qualified through this organisation – http://www.itg.org.uk/
A pal of mine qualified as a ‘Blue Badge Guide’ after taking early retirement from his ‘proper job’ in the telecomms industry, and now shows groups, many from abroad, round NT proerties, heritage railways, museums and so on.
