A new aircrew memorial and an appeal for surviving family members

A small group of villagers in Kedington Suffolk have been campaigning for and have now got the go ahead for a new memorial to the airmen who lost their lives in the parish between 1938 and 1935. We will be commissioning a sculpted angel for the foyer of the community center and a parchment roll of honour in a glass cabinet. We want very much to include surviving family of the airmen in the process and the unveiling which will be in about a years time. Any help in contacting relatives of these men from across the world would be much appreciated .

Sgt Frank Hayman was my mother’s brother (would have been my uncle, had he survived)

Apologies for being pedantic but he is your uncle irrespective……….. I am sorry he did not survive.

I have just been informed of this project. Sgt Frank Hayman was my mother’s brother (would have been my uncle, had he survived) and somewhere in the family archives I have a letter from his CO, written after the crash.

If anyone can give me any up to date Squadron association contact details for any of the above it would be very useful . The contacts I have obtained so far are not up to date. Kevin.
