Like to know the details, how did they manufacture nose cones?

Hi,

Attached a photo made in the Fokker factory in 1938 or 1939. The man is busy to manufacture a nosecone for a Fokker G.1. Is there anyone who knows more about the proces? Did they use the same kind of lathe in England? Does someone has photos of such a proces?

Regards,

Mathieu.

A quite surprising and amazing process to watch.

It’s how they make spinners too.

The process is called metal spinning, where a disc of metal is spun in a special lathe, over a wooden former. Much info out there if you Google the subject.
