Well never thought I would ever see the Reds performing at a Flying legends Airshow!
Interesting line up of Aircraft this year – still hoping for one of the Mossies to show!

I fail to see how anyone can watch the Red Arrows, and not think what they do is special.
And the team are most definitely flying legends, always have been, and come from the greatest formation display flying lineage in the world, dating back to the 1920’s 🙂
Absolutely agree……!! Don’t see that it matters what method of propulsion is used. Not sure if the RAF still has enough Tucanos on strength to allow re-equipment of the ‘arrows?!!!

Never attended “Legends” but really can’t see it would be any less “special” with the “Arrows” present. Could it make it more “special”, perhaps ??
You should go!….. For me less special – unless the reds swap out their propulsion to piston power! Really worth the effort to get there one year Mike; you’ll see why!

They do. I wasn’t being impolite about the Reds. Legends was always special. With so many shows closing and costs spiralling i fear that special feel might become watered down. Good to see they don’t encroach on the show though.

Oh dear. What a shame. They do pull in the crowds though.

To be fair Brian, “pre-show” could be morning 😀
As flying usually commences at two of the clock, the flight line walk is open until 12.30, then comes the FOD walk and herding camera toting walkers off the live side, which is usually completed by 1pm, I would suggest that any Red Sparrows display will occur afterwards – maybe 1330 onwards?
Just a guess…

Would I be right in saying then that perhaps the refs will be performing in the morning rather than the afternoon flying display?

From the TFC Flying Legends Facebook page.
We are pleased to announce an exceptional appearance by the Red Arrows at Flying Legends airshow on Sunday 9th July at 13.20. In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the first RAF jet team which was formed in 1947 flying three de Havilland Vampires from RAF Odiham Fighter Wing, we are delighted that the Red Arrows have agreed to perform as a separate pre-show act. This is the only time this year that you will be able to see them display at IWM Duxford. The Red Arrows truly are Flying Legends!
So not part of the actual flying display.
