Do17s, Ju88s, Bf110 and Ju87s would be pretty hard to do without CGI. Scale models could be used but it wouldn’t be enough.
Eagerly awaiting Dunkirk. (Still hoping that they’ll Emil up those buchons). Looks to be good either way.

To be honest I think it could be a fantastic undertaking, if he realizes that today in the UK there are Spitfire MK-I’s, & a 109E just waiting to be filmed.
Not available when the original was made!
We could, depending on “THE STORY” be in for something very special??
I Hope

The Battle of Britain film was a film from quite a wide perspective showing all different sides ,angles and even participants from the evacuees, to ground crew etc with personalities within the storyline.Piece of Cake was a multi episode series mostly about the characters within the narrow story of the Battle of Britain.
I haven’t seen Dark Blue world but it sounds like a love story type plot set within the time of the B o B,whilst 1st Light was biographical of one pilots experiences.
All brilliantly done but all slightly different. The 1969 film for me would be a great thing to remake in a more graphic ,hard hitting reality type of film using a mix of real airframes and realistic CGI ,not some of the rubbish that has been done in so called modern blockbusters.

Don’t mention the dog
That joke has already been done on the previous page, and it wasn’t funny then either. :applause:
I wonder if Peter Jackson had all those plastic Lancs made up, then found out what Gibson’s dog was called.

It gets me that people automatically assume this project is a remake. Has that been confirmed anywhere?
You may be right. But take a look at the left background: https://www.fantasyofflight.com/collection/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Rigged-Snipe.jpg
…Yep! That looks like a plastic Mossie alright!
Best regards;

28 posts before “Gibson’s dog” and the “PC Brigade” splutter ! splutter! Gets a mention…..
28 posts eh? Must be some sort of record for here.

And there will be CGI. Live with it.
Unless Ridley follows Chris Nolan’s example, and uses minimal CGI only to enhance the combat sequences.
We only have, what, four months now until we can check out how Dunkirk has turned out?

Dark Blue World is well worth a watch. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
By: AlanR - 5th April 2017 at 23:22
Anyone recall a movie called Dark Blue World?
Moggy
I had a quick look at it tonight. The flying sequences looked quite good, but there was too much
other stuff going going on around it. I’ll have to watch the whole film to form a proper opinion.
By: Supermarine305 - 5th April 2017 at 23:05
Why? The original Dam Busters and Battle of Britain are both pretty hammy; full of plumb voices, sprawling narrative (looking at you BoB) and are both very dated. Who watches those movies now? What is the viewership age demographic outside of classic movie aficianados and war move buffs?
There is noting wrong in retelling a good story, even better when it is based on historic fact. Its just the how its done that is the issue rather than whether it should be. And there will be CGI. Live with it.

So anther film that should be left alone just like the dam busters and air brushing the code name and gibsons dog for the pc brigade, its fair to say they have ran out of fresh ideas. Next will be band brothers and saving ryans privates

You really haven’t got the hang of this have you?
You are supposed to say “Oh yes there was”
… and this goes on for another few rounds and then somebody yells “Look out he’s behind you!”
