I remember seeing one being removed from the old storage location at MOSI, is this still extant?
Recently relocated to the Tornado Heritage Centre at Hawarden… Sorry for the FarceBook link…

Non destructive use and a conservation plan in place for it – I’d have like to see it go to a museum, but they can only go where previous owners allow it.

It’s been placed on pallets, lubricated and protected by jet art for non destructive scenarios according to Aviation magazines and will feature in a TV programme shortly

The Fire and rescue services have to be prepared to deal with many varied challenges,
And that would include dealing with military Aircrash scenarios,post shoreham there will be renewed focus on Military Jets in Civilian use and the hazards
of trying to extricate casualtys compromised by the Explosive elements in ejector seats etc.

Complete balderdash and poppycock!! It has been brought as a military crew extraction trainer, not to burn or destroy. I would do some research before I start threads saying “It will be burned…”

May be chopped up rather than burnt.
H&S and Environmental laws now make it dificult to legally burn airframes. And cars, boats etc. hence all the mockups being used as firemen’s playthings. So it may be that the aircraft hacked around with axes and hydraulic cutters. If someone were to offer them an equivalent but less rare airframe to play with they might well do a swap. My guess is that an airliner front fusleage would be much more representative of an aircraft likely to descend on Manchester than a Tornado

Indeed it is. When I first joined BAC (as it was then) Warton in Nivember 1974 to start my career in Systems Engineering, my first project was on the MRCA ADV (not yet named Tornado) autopilot.
