Phantoms over Reno

2016 was the final year for the USAF operated F-4 Phantoms after 50 plus years of service. The air races held in Reno were one of the last five public appearances before their final flight and Retirement ceremony held at Holloman AFB on December 21.

They were a regular feature when the High Rollers ANG outfit was flying them instead of the C130’s they have now…

At least it sounds as if they drowned out the announcer, which is a good thing.

Just to be clear, they were part of the drone program.
Also shown (as above in Vietnam-era colours) in the recent film Sully.
