CA 15 Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation Engineering Archive

ANAM (Australian National Aviation Museum-Moorabbin) Archives in Australia are the custodians of a great deal of original engineering material on the CA-15. Much of this material is on photographic negatives and aperture cards. The task of digitising and cataloging this material is a significant endeavour. A Facebook page has been set up to shine a light on what material is available and to coordinate an initiative to organise this material into a digital engineering dataset. You are most welcome to join at https://www.facebook.com/CA15Kangaroo/

Information is sought on the Rolls Royce Griffon 61 used in the CA-15.
Any leads on an aperture card reader would be most welcome.

Kind regards,
Edward Meysztowicz

Great book! ANAM Moorabbin Archives has a similar copy, so it looks like more than one was generated, unless one refers to radial engine configuration….will have to compare !

Ok, I definitely have the Rotol manual for you then. Let me dig them out and I’ll send them to you.

Props were, when a a RH tractor R-2800 radial was proposed, 6519-12 Mosquito/Lancaster blades on a Hamilton Standard 24E60 4 blade hub, 12′ 6″ dia.
Of course, only the inline LH tractor Griffon 61 powered version flew, same 12′ 6″ dia, same 4 blade setup, but using Rotol hydraulic prop with Jablo blades….almost like a……Napier Sabre powered Typhoon could……there’s some CA-15 prop info floating about, I will look in the cupboards and report!

I might be able to help there. Let me see what I can find. What was the prop? HS or Rotol? Do you need any inter-war years radial engine manuals in pdf?

I have 110 LeRhone (ok, not inter-war), Jupiter, Panther, Genet Major, Gipsy Queen and Major, Mercury XV, Pegasus, Perseus, Pobjoy and a couple of random US engine books.
