This item has been found at a Spitfire wreck site in Europe.
Can anyone identify?
The AH 2217 number says Dunlop/pneumatic and 14A camera equipment. Anyone know what 14A/1008 stores reference is?
PS – ONGOING FORUM ISSUES ARE PREVENTING IMAGES LOADING – BUT PERHAPS SOMEBODY CAN IDENTIFY FROM ABOVE INFORMATION ALTHOUGH I WILL TRY TO POST IMAGES LATER

I have a 14A from a Lancaster crash site. It was Whitley Project who confirmed it was photo equipment and added it to his parts list. From photo comparisons I am pretty sure my piece is the back plate from the onboard camera used to take the target aiming picture for post raid analysis. If we agree it was from such a large camera, then your Spitfire must have been a long range reconnaissance version. HTH
