Nimrod Nimoil OM87 hydraulic oil

We have found the original manufacturer of the above oil for the Nimrod, they have agreed to make a batch. If anyone with a Nimrod or Comet who needs some please let me know a quantity you require and we can get a quantity for production agreed and get a price before manufacture. It is OX87 and our Nimrod has no OM15 in it the tanks are all marked OX87 which is a completely different type of oil.

Not a problem mate, only reason I remember is that I tripped over a can of OM-15 the other month on the jet and ‘polity’ enquired why it was there? the fairies were happy to inform me it belonged to them!

Main hydraulic systems oil used in Nimrod MR ac was OX87. This replaced OF4 which was previously used. OX87 was also used in the w/wiper system and oleo struts. OX7 was used in the ECU, APU and Sec Cooling Pack. OX38 used in the Cold Air Units.
No OM15 used in Nimrod MR ac.

Apart from the Searchwater Radar system!, the Searchwater Radar hydraulics used OM15 on the Nimrod MR2

Not much OM15 used in Nimrods. the oils used are quite hard to get hold of so if someone can make some then great.

Shell H515 is still readily available.

The hydraulic oil for the Nimrod was H-515 or OM15 .

This is the bright red one used in most of the RAF of the Cold War era

I may be mistaken but it may be OX87.
