Is there a way of obtaining a copy of his medal entitlement or any known relatives Jules ?
Or any post war photos available ?

No, i doubt it, it did not come from the family, and i’ve exhausted searching the web……………

medal entitlement may be a route though………….

Looks like he retired in 1960 as a Flt Lt,from the gazette…

6412 SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, 20TH SEPTEMBER 1960

Still no mention of a CGM

Thanks Bazv

its strange, as it really looks like the ribbon belongs on the bar with the others, but i guess we will never know ……………

Thank you to every one who has contributed to this thread

does anyone know if there is an official list of CGM awards ?

could it be that he wore this ribbon unofficially after the war ?

Jules,

The ‘London Gazette’ is the best place to start looking. It can be a bit of a trawl if you don’t have all his details, service number, date of award etc.

try this though:
