I came across this photo that was labeled as a Lancaster. It was obvious it wasn’t, but it intrigued me so I grabbed it. I was hoping to scan it and see a serial number. Sadly no luck. But on the back of the photo it said it was taken in Italy in December 1944.
Any idea what this Halifax would have been doing in Italy? No squadron markings, and obvious modifications. Special Duties?
