Air Ministry Motor Generator – Possible Radio Part?

Afternoon folks,

I’ve had this Air Ministry motor/generator knocking around for some time. I’ve always assumed that it’s part of the power unit for some form of aircraft radio (best guess). My curiosity has been given a nudge recently after having being shown a photo of a damaged Air Ministry data plate recovered from Spitfire crash site which is identical to the one on this unit.

The data plate reads:

Air Ministry
Motor Generator 20 Watts
11-12 Volts 3-8 Amps
To
480 Volts .04 Amp
Ref No 10K/12006B
Serial No EEB 42557

Can anyone confirm if my assumption is correct and, if so, what type of radio unit this would have been installed with? If not, any ideas on what it’s purpose was or any images showing installation would be appreciated.
