What happens to the bits left over ?

I don’t know if this has been spoken about before.
But when restorers do a “restoration” of a Spitfire or something like that and 90% of the airframe is a crumpled mess which is not used. What do they do with all that is left ? Is it boxed up and stored or simply disposed of?
