Hurricane gate guard, Reading c1950-55

One that my dad mentioned only recently that he remembers a Hawker Hurricane outside Pulsometer Engineering on the Oxford Road Reading. He remembers it being in a silver scheme and this would have been in the early 50’s when he would have been at secondary school. I believe it was on the Junction of Portman Road and Norcot Hill, now a big retail estate? Any ideas?
