For fairly obvious reasons the airshow planned for this year was cancelled and in place they are holding a two day Barton Family Days on 3rd and 4th Sept 2016.
This is a shame as the airshow last year, I believe, was the first since the tragic loss of RR299 and crew in 1996.
The show last year was good although a little lacking in organisation in certain areas which no doubt would have been put right this year.
If attendance this year is anything like last year then factor in a long time to get away.
If you are within striking distance please think of giving them your support.
They are located between two major motorways so it is difficult to predict if there will be any future airshows.
Also coming soon the Stars and Stripes event at Burtonwood Heritage Centre on the 17th and 18th September and also on the 18th Hooton Park Trust will be having an open day.
Also worth a mention is the Ormskirk Motorfest which is tomorrow Sunday 28th August. This is an excellent event and a good, free, family day out. They close the roads in the centre of town and use it as a car track with many interesting cars and activities for all the family.
