One for the component gurus…

Any ideas on this one?
It’s about 4″ in length, and about 2½” in diameter.
It has a Ministry “A Crown M” stamp on the upper cylindrical barrel, and was attached by two split saddle clamps to the rotted remains of some type of bracket.
The upper ferrule contained a portion of single core HT lead; and the smaller two ferrules contained the remains of lengths of two-core, extenally sheathed cable.
There is no Section Ref. No; only a manufacturers code: “Type C2 TS 24 Volts Ser: XXXX.”
The only other marking is a circular inspection stamp segmented laterally with a line; and the letters “TD” in the upper segment, and the inspector’s number (15) in the lower segment.
This component was in the recovered Hawker Typhoon stock; but we have no idea if it was actually part of the Typhoon fit .
Any ideas as to what it is would be greatly appreciated.
