Roundel location

I came across this image of a shot down Fairey Battle from an Ebay auction whilst looking for other things…

I know it is from 103 squadron, being apparently K9374 in which Sgt CD Perry was injured, and later died of his wounds. His comrades escaped with their lives.

Notice something? I cannot say I have seen the roundel located so far back on an RAF Battle – or any British military aircraft – before. A quick root around and it doesn’t seem to appear on any other Battle at the time of the blitzkrieg.
