I have managed to obtain tickets to the major event happening at the Thiepval memorial on July 1st and was wondering if any flypast was planned by a replica Be2 or such to mark the contribution of the RFC during the battle?

If anyone wants to doubt the futility of war
Casualties and losses
794,238
British losses 481,842, French losses about 250,000
537,918
German losses 236,194
That excludes those who ended up with damaged minds. It is upon us now to remember them all involved in that horror of all horrors.

But now we’ve had notification that we {Bristol Scout} will be flying as part of the official commemoration on 1 July, performing a flypast of the Thiepval memorial in formation with the BE2F and Albatros of WAHT. We’ll be temporarily French for the occasion, courtesy of our RNAS cockades, and will be operating out of the aerodrome at Albert Bray, which is only 5 miles from the Thiepval memorial, so almost in gliding range.
