Is it just me or have there been an awful lot of crashes of late? It is kind of worrying

Probably not. Throughout the world, a commercial flight takes off every fifteen seconds, it is inevitable that one may not land satisfactorily. In the U.S. there is a GA accident or incident every day due to the increased GA activity and lower costs of flying. Don’t worry, fly safe!:)
