Club Prop source ?

We have a number of running engines that require a club prop: Packard Merlin, Merlin III, Kestrel, R2600, R2000, R1830.

Can anyone suggest a possible source for such items. Not worried what part of the globe they are in.

regards

We have a serviceable 23E50 which we will probably use the Hub. Just had a reply from a friend who has access to some cut-down blades.

We do have an original Demon prop, but would not fit it to the Kestrel as I don’t have much faith in its integrity.

There are unlikely to be enough club props extant in any sort of usable condition to fit all your engines, Waynne. You could consider having them made or having a cut down propeller to fit.

A basic 23E50 would do for the radials and the Packard Merlin and could, with a bit of grunt and/or assistance from a small crane, be interchangeable between these three. As for the MIII and Kestrel; you would probably be better off with bespoke clubs made to modern spec though the adaptor/sleeve onto the spline would be more difficult to source.

An old 23E50 or 23EX would do for the Merlin III but would need the SBAC-50 internal spline. These can be recovered from scrapped or crashed hubs as they would not need to pass inspection for flight. Perhaps one or two of the running Merlin projects in the UK could help.
