17th ASA Antwerp Aviation Fair is CANCELLED
Due to the raised security levels in place at Antwerp Airport, it is impossible to reach the Stampe and Vertongen Museum by car, which makes the loading and unloading of material for the fair impossible.
Therefor, we have decided to cancel the 17th Antwerp Aviation Fair on May 21st,

ASA’s 17th Antwerp Aviation Fair will NOT take place at the Stampe & Vertongen Museum, on May 21st, 2016
THIS YEAR’S FAIR IS CANCELLED
Near Antwerp Airport Deurne they are now looking to Spring 2017, when the threats have hopefully been diminished…

Never thought I would see the day when terrorism had an impact on aerojumbles!
Errrr… yes…. 😉
Point is: some aircraft have to be wheeled/pushed out of a hangar to make room for this aerojumble.
Yes, this Aviation Hobby Fair sometimes had to share space with a three-engined (not twin-engined) Falcon business jet! :eagerness:
It is mostly Stampes and other warbirds/vintage birds that have to be moved out to make room for the tables -and stands, though.
There is some kind of enclosure cordoned off with steel movable fences that allows some very good views on the Antwerp Airport Deurne platform.
Don’t be surprised when an Embraer holiday jet or a Fokker 50 taxies by during this Aviation Fair/Aerojumble!
Not to speak of taxi-ing Harvards, Stampes -and if you are very lucky a North American T-28 rather near that enclosure.
Police helicopter hover-taxiing very near that Aero Jumble? Yes, it has happened on occasion! 😎
Yes, it is that close. And the movable fences are only three to four feet high.
Antwerpen Airport has become rather busy with international passenger flights these days.
