"Meet the Bomber Boys" Veteran signing event 8th May 2016 – at the Wings Museum

I am pleased to welcome back our Bomber Command Veterans for another signing event in aid of the International Bomber Command Memorial on Sunday the 8th May 2016. I am also confident we will have a few new unsigned Bomber Command veterans on the day!

The first signing is at 10.30am and the second signing at 2.30pm, the Wings Museum will also be open so there has not been a better opportunity to visit the museum! we are also only 20 mins away from the Gatwick Aviation Museum so why not make a day of it and visit both?

For more info please see the museum website

Many thanks and hope to see a few forumites on the day!

I am pleased to report our latest “Meet the Bomber Boys” Event raised £1,370 pounds for the International Bomber Command Memorial. Another excellent event with a good attendance, we even had a never before signed Halifax Flt. Engineer!! Thanks as always must to go the public who continue to show their support to these special men. Watch this space for another signing event at Wings in September 2016.

Shame Hawker1966, hope you are sunning yourself on a carinbean island somewhere! Thanks for your kind comments and I hope this year we can raise even more funds for the Memorial than previous years. We can never say for sure if there will be another Bomber Boys, we lost “Bunny” Mason earlier this year, he will be missed, Bunny spoke on behalf of the Wings Museum in favour of the museum when we were going through our planning with the local authorities.

Very disappointed as im unable to make this well organized and terrific event. as unfortunately im double booked.

Anyone who hasn’t yet attended please do yourself a big favor and support the Bomber boys and the very enjoyable Wings museum..you will need to allow some 3 hours plus to take it all in.

Fingers crossed there will be another one in the near future as i have a couple of new prints that i would love to get signed..

Hi, that is very kind of you, I am sure these prints will help raise funds for the International Bomber Command Memorial. Thank you!

Hi Redhill wings
I have some prints of Stirling’s and Hampden’s that I am happy for you to have.
You may be able to raise a few extra quid from them.
The Stirling pic is especially nice.
Let me know if you are interested and I will see if I can get down there.
Cheers
Gerry

I get a print or something signed every year! I even have a gunsite signed by Dave Fellowes who shot down a Ju-88, they consider themselves as the “lucky ones”. Looking forward to the 8th May.

Went to it two years ago and bought a print of Stirling 1 similar to one my father flew. It was a print of the one flown by Group Captain Thomas G Hamish Mahaddie and got it signed by all the Bomber Boys. Great to see the veterans who survived and are still here.
