"P-51, Cadillac of the sky!"

Just because I’m watching Empire of the Sun at the moment….

Enjoy! 😀

Apologies if this has already been posted but for those in the UK the 20-year-old BBC Decisive Weapons episode of the same name is available on iPlayer for another couple of weeks. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0078dxf/decisive-weapons-series-1-3-the-p51-cadillac-of-the-skies. It’s a great watch.

There was a Harvard Zero wreck (not the one previously mentioned) at North Weald in the 90’s.
I assume it was from the same film but was in a worse state. Lots of panels removed and the paint scheme was very well worn.
Would have been at the time of the open days when bedsheet bomber, lincoln and 111 were extant.

Thanks for that. Didn’t realise it was the camouflaged example from the Duxford thread!

Didn’t one of the forum’s members have one of the Harvards that was used to depict a Zero in the film?? It was a restoration project, so I think it was the downed aircraft seen early on.

The scene were Jamie meets one of his Dream planes (The Mitsubishi Zero) always brings a tear to my eye!
