In 1963 I found half a dozen of these cover panels and one main panel in a dump area at Henderson Field, Guadalcanal. The panels have a US Navy look to them, and the indicator lights are of a type used only in Navy aircraft. However, similar cover panel styles were also used in USAAF types, and many Army units were based at Henderson too.
The cover panels are black with white undersides to reflect light from lamps embedded in the main panels. Size of the panels (23″ x 13″) and their markings suggest they were for a radar operator in a small aircraft. Engraved markings on the cover panels include NACELLE UP DOWN, BLOCK INPUT VOLTAGE, AC VOLTS SET AT 115 etc, which implies use with a small podded radar unit such as ASH or APS-4. There are no part numbers or inspection stamps anywhere on any of the panels.
Proof of what aircraft these panels were for would be gratefully received.

I don’t mean to jump in on your thread but while the instrument panel experts are here I am looking to ID this panel, yes I believe it is upside down in the photo, can’t find any part numbers but sometimes they can be a pain to find, may be under the paint somewhere looks pretty caked on.
