I have been researching the crash of a DH10 in 1921:

I have just received photographs of the wreck, and wonder if anyone knows what Mann Egerton stencilled (or painted) on their aircraft just below the tailplane (this DH10 was one of those built by them). The top line would probably be “Mann Egerton & Co Ltd” I suppose.
I also found a photo of a Mann Egerton “H” at http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205315280 that shows the stencil more clearly, but the lower lines remain illegible.
Any ideas? Thanks

I’m going to answer my own question, as I have managed to blow up the IWM photo enough to read: MANN EGERTON & CO LTD, AIRCRAFT WORKS, NORWICH, ENGLAND. I’ll leave the post on though in case it is of interest to anyone, or in case I made a mistake (eg in the “& CO LTD bit).
