Vintage jet display photos

A happy reminder of the days when jets were displayed at airshows. 🙂

What makes you think that vintage jets will not display at Airshows any more? If they have been looked after properly and operated properly, you will see them. If they haven’t, you will not. Martin Baker is going to be the show stopper. Why do people post crap comments? Nice photo BTW.

I couldn’t agree more, your words ‘operated properly being the key words here !

merlin70: your photo is of the two prototype Vulcans (VX770 and 777) with the four Avro 707s in 1953. Nice picture too. Mine is of two operational Vulcans (note the kinked leading edges). According to Scramble they were probably XA904 and 906, and the Valiants XD822 and 868.

Sadly destroyed at DX. It would good to see another T33 or P80 displayed in the UK even without undertaking aerobatics.

Alan, the Martin-Baker Meteors have Mk.10 seats.

Nice photos! Here’s one of mine, this time with 4 V-bombers, although only 2 types- Farnborough 1957. Usual apology for poor quality, but due to my cheap equipment at the time.

Probably the best vintage jet formation team in the world? :eagerness: A friend scanned this from an old & well worn negative, so apologies for the poor quality, nevertheless, I think it captures the atmosphere of the times.
Regards, Rich.

Close, but this one gets the cigar for me: all are jets too (well sort of!)

do you need live seats? A lot of aircraft display without them but I also guess its easier to dead stick those.

And Martin Baker probably also have a fix. Do their Meteors still operate with Mk.1 & Mk.2 seats? No, current generation seats shoe horned into those. Looking at photos they appear at the least to be Mk.8 seats.
