Hi All
Can anyone fill me in with the history or photos of Knight Twister, N979, whilst in the UK? It is now restored and hanging from the roof of the training room of my employer in Indiana, USA.

Wallace Cubitt imported this aeroplane in to the UK during the early 1990s with a couple of Cassutt Racers and a pair of Pitts Specials and it was, for a while, based on his airstrip on the old airfield at Foulsham in Norfolk before moving it to Shipdham where the runway was more suitable for a skittish little speed machine like the Twister. It didn’t fly very much during its time in UK but I remember seeing it fly at Shipdham shortly before Cubitt’s death in his Hawker Hunter.

Yes, I believe Richard Earl was one of the co-owners of the Miles Hawk.

Formerly registered in the UK as G-BRAX, and Google flagged up a link with photo:

Interesting little aircraft, with a reputation seemingly almost the same as the Flying Flea? Never heard of them until tonight 😉
And G-INFO confirms the UK ownership:

I understand that it may have been in the ownership of someone called Richard Earl during its time in the UK, does this ring any bells with anyone?

I believe it was brought to the UK by the owners of Miles Hawk G-ADWT. I understand from a conversation with one of them that the CAA took one look at it and said ‘no way!’ So it remained in storage until being sold back to the US
