Now with the Angels testing his new Wings to the max. RIP

Probably the first angel to need an arrestor hook?

“As it remarks ‘What do you use for a flypast?'”

There wouldn’t be room for the clouds if an appropriate collection was established.

In the Daily Mail’s tribute today, it mentions that a memorial service is being planned at Yeovilton.
As it remarks ‘What do you use for a flypast?’

Never had the chance to meet him (I had an opportunnity once but work commitments prevented me from attending) but have loved his books since I first read Wings of the Navy and Wings of the Weird and Wonderful.

A long life well lived, and thankfully a relatively short time of illness at the end.

His books leave a rich legacy for future generations to enjoy.

What a loss, and what a man, one of the greatest aviators in history without a doubt. I’ll be raising a glass tonight. Blue skies and fair winds, Eric!

A true legend has left us, it’s time to celebrate his extraordinary life and achievements in Aviation. It is and will always be the ultimate pilot!

He will be missed. Rest in peace Eric.
