Spitfire Anniversary

Someone somewhere will have the answer hopefully,
i am looking for information on a Spitfire Anniversary,
this involved the ATC (or a group of Cadets) visiting Spitfire owners to see how many could be visited,
i presume within a time period and leaving the owner with a number plate with the Spitfire registration.

Were they successful and how many Spitfires/Spitfire owners in the total ?
