What has happened to Mark12, he hasn’t posted lately, I do hope he’s not quit after his 10,000th post as was suggested in an earlier thread. I miss his input.

Indeed. It’s gone awfully quiet on buried Spitfires in Orkney.

This is the Spitfire forum isn’t it?

Geographically selective, though…

Perhaps he just has nothing to say..
By: Thunderbird167 - 23rd February 2016 at 08:32
I think he may be busy with other things and choosing not be in the thick of things.
He was on the forum observing as recently as the 21st Feb
I am sure his helpful contributions will resume when time allows

Well let’s just hope he’s on one of his winterwalkabouts, as the ratio of “argumentative know-nothings” is currently running higher than the “cantankerous know-it-alls” at least with the latter we learn something! not to mention he has a superb collection of archive photos (many are self taken) that he shares with us (did I mention that, ah, I thought I said not to mention, oh never mind…….)

Joking aside, if Mark has left the (forum)building we are all the poorer regarding the very thing this forum has been set up.:apologetic:

Hi Cees my post was not intended as a joke rather a sad commentary on another forumite lost from the little community we have here
By: Sopwith - 22nd February 2016 at 17:03
Well thanks for the input fellows, and like CeBro said it will be a loss if he’s left. He is a bit of a Messiah regarding Spitfires though.:)

The forum will still be an excellent source of information on all things aviation, many many people make it so

Lots of people have ‘left’ the forum in the past ! It’s not detrimental to their health and probably good for their sanity!

sorry couldn’t resist.
Dammit I was going to say that!

He’s not the Messiah.
I’m not sure, Propstrike. A few of his 9,977 posts resulted in utterances of the Lord’s name.
And I do think he has embraced the fundamental forum philosophy, “Let us pry*!”
He may have left us to study theology…or conflict archaeology.
*meaning inquiry, analysis, and investigation of the past.

He did write ‘over and out’ in his last posting (one that wasn’t recently deleted, knocking his total down to 9,997), so there’s a chance he has flown the coop, once and for all. Not a 100% certainty, though.
Maybe he logged on from an internet café far, far away, too.
