Passing through the village I spotted the memorial commemorating the Stirling crash there in 1945. The aircraft impacted along the main street killing the crew and village postmaster . The monument consists of a very accurate model of a Stirling mounted on a slim red brick plinth,

Great job and memorial to the crew and victims.
Its a shame the council could not find a Stirling photo, rather than the Halifax.
