Tribute to the V-Force 2016

The dates for this event in 2016 have been set for Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 May 201.

Yesterday an event overview text was added to the NAM website and it can be found here!

The event is open to the public as well as former V-Force air and ground crew, at least one forumite has already indicated that he is attending with a relevant display!

A bump for this event (Sat & Sun) – I took a call from BBMF just before lunchtime today, confirming Dakota flypast on Sunday, (Spitfire & Hurricane flypast Saturday): plus lots of event details in here! 🙂

If its Strike Command Victor or Vulcan Servicing School then what does the ‘T’ stand for?

Thank you for the clarification; are you planning to attend? This time round a good number of ex-Crew Chiefs are due to attend.

STCVSS Stands for Strike Command Victor or Vulcan Servicing School Where all the Ground Crews were trained on their type aircraft . Mine was Engines and aircraft fuel systems and the MK 20B Pod and the MK 17 HDU,s and for Crew Chief Courses covered all the relevant trades and versions of the Victor Tankers

STCVSS sounds nasty, I hope they find a cure.

Assuming is isn’t some awful disease or condition, what is it?

Bing and Google were no help

When the list was drafted back in February it only represented those V-Force squadrons that were being represented by veterans at the Reunion (at that time); it was not meant to be a definitive V-Force list.

I am now pleased to report that 15 and 214 are now represented as well; but not STCVSS (??) according to the details presented so far.

208 Squadron was an error made during the cut and paste phase of drafting the list – some veterans listed all of their RAF service, and that one escaped the edit! Apologies all round. 😮

Don’t see why you’re apologising, it was obvious to anyone who actually read the post.
