The 60th anniversary of Canberra WT333’s first flight was marked by a gathering at Bruntingthorpe today (her home for the last 21 years).
Some brisk exercise in the cold sunshine proved her to be in fine fettle and a credit to the Operating Team volunteers. A slightly younger Cold War veteran was also paying tribute.
Many thanks to GT for access.

Indeed a good day was had by all our English Electric fans,
WT333 went well and was quite frisky in the crosswind and we all got warmed by some reheat action thanks to our friends at the LPG,
…a great crowd and a enjoyable aviation day, thanks to all..

Indeed an excellent if somewhat ‘brass monkey’ weather birthday. Well done to everyone involved with some serious hard work involved to prepare and organise the day, and especially to Dennis Brooks with a superb run in ‘333 in very windy conditions, she looked and sounded superb with her new tail artwork.
XR728 was of course a very welcome bonus.
Unfortunately I missed the group photo though as I had to wander off to meet someone to pick up an item.
