A massive thank you to everyone at Newark Air Museum! We all had a most memorable event. Found some nice things in the Aeroboot including my birthday present, a Skybolt missile model!!! Mike Davey’s Phantom project was brilliant as ever and great talking to all of his team over both days, and the Anson project is equally exceptional.

Also, big thanks to Mick for opening the Migs during our spot of Living History and making our US Navy friend very welcome. All of you did a wonderful job as usual.

Sending our get well wishes to Bill whose card we all signed. All the very best.

Well done to Newark Air Museum for hosting another excellent event.

The weather was kind to all on both days this year, which always adds an extra boost to the proceedings.

I attended as a visitor on the saturday, and enjoyed catching up with a lot of friends who were displaying some excellent progress on their projects.

As ever, the projects on show represented a good cross-section of types, of all different sizes and a good variety of themes.

I’m looking forward to 2017 already!

Not sure about any bargains etc. but everything seemed to go well.

Details of the Cockpit-Fest 2016 winners etc. have been posted here on the NAM website!

Thanks to everyone who attended this year.

Any feedback on this event. Did anyone grab a bargain on the day ??

Got a Shackleton Flight Engineers Panel, bit empty though but a real classic piece

Glad to hear it. Couldn’t make it as my leg gave way on Friday and has only now returned to normal. No fun getting old..

Really good to see so many new projects there. Excellent!

Seems to have gone well today at Cockpit-Fest & Aeroboot – best Saturday visitor figures since 2011! :eagerness:

Managed to get a gallery added here – a few random views from today http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/2016_Cockpit-Fest_Gallery

Looking forward to another great day tomorrow, gates open at 10am! :applause:

Very pleasant first day I thought, with a good turn out and lots of interest in both rigs – and the sun showed its face eventually. Roll on tomorrow.

Some stuff squeezed into car. Shameful early start tomorrow. Next time, I will mostly be bringing smaller stuff.

Good to hear that you’ve arrived and are ready for some “face to face aviation trading!”

Well I have arrived ready to fest, but only after a drive from the South Coast that took longer than my flight to Boston last month.

I need Jumble therapy tomorrow, lots of it !

Thank you for your good wishes – I will nudge a few people to try and get a gallery added to the NAM website ASAP; like this one from 2015 http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/2015_Cockpit-Fest_Gallery

Unfortunately there’s not a chance I can attend but I hope a great time is had by all, and that plenty of photos are shared for the geographically-challenged among us.

No specific ‘early bird’ entry for the Aeroboot I’m afraid. Gates open at 9am on Saturday & 10am on Sunday; admission details etc. can be found in here http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Cockpit_Fest_At_A_Glance

Just noticed a late addition on the cockpit front – “F.86 Sabre – BB-103(?)* ex Luftwaffe” http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Cockpit-Fest_16_11

Another Aeroboot seller has booked in this morning – but to answer an off-board question from an exhibitor NAM will not be selling any non-accessed items this weekend. (All volunteers are actively engaged with the event!)

All you need to know about Cockpit-Fest & the Aeroboot can be found in here!
