'Crooked Sky' (1956 film)

This morning, for want of something better to do, I watched this film on television. Whilst the plot is weak, predictable and far from original, the upside was the location shots. These were, I presume, filmed at Blackbushe, as the principal aeronautical role was taken by Viking G-AIHA, carrying the title ‘Globe Link’ (a fictitious US airline), part of the Eagle Airways fleet at the time. Also used was what appeared to be a Dutch military C-47 (in which the lead actor flew from the USA!). Other aeroplanes to feature on camera were a line-up of Eagle Airways Vikings, a York (presumably not Eagle Airways – it appears that it sold its fleet of those to Skyways in 1953), a Prince (in a hangar scene – the registration was shown, which may have been G-AMPR, but I failed to memorise this) and several Proctors. There was also a four engined Douglas (?) type which, presumably, was not an Eagle Airways DC-6 (as it did not acquire its first until 1958). Perhaps a DC-4/C-54? In summary, I have to say that the film was worth watching just for its portrayal of airline operations at Blackbushe (?) in the 1950s. But not for anything beyond that!
